Auckland Parking Structure
Xypex Concentrate was used to waterproof the parking decks, parkades and walkways of this waterfront facility.
Eight projects from 1998 through 2003 used Xypex Admix and Xypex Concentrate to waterproof basement areas and liftpits. Xypex was also added insitu to precast and shotcrete concrete structures. The projects included apartments, carparks and a sewage pump station.
Blenheim Aquatic Centre
450 kg Xypex Admix C-1000 NF, along with 1000 m of Kuniseal C-31DS waterstop, were utilised as the waterproofing
system for the pools and balance tanks in this large Aquatic centre. The centre serves as part of a major sporting complex in
the heart of Blenheim.
Pull-off adhesion tests were performed by Mapei, who were supplying the tiles to be stuck to the Xypex treated concrete, and
these proved appropriate adhesion could be achieved using their cementitious adhesives combined with a latex compound.
A Mapei epoxy adhesive was also tested with excellent results, as expected.
Kelly Tarltons Underwater World
Tamaki Drive, Auckland
Xypex Admix C-1000 NF and Kuniseal C-31 waterstop were used to waterproof the new Stingray tank and filter plant room at
Kelly Tarlton's. Xypex FCM 40 was also used as an extra measure for the concrete joints.
Leaks through the ceiling which constitutes the road above, were plugged using Xypex Patch'n Plug, MPnP Mortar and

Approx. 1,260 kg Xypex Admix C-1000 NF, 16 tonnes of Denka CSA and MS600 were combined to provide a shrinkage
compensated, waterproof and durable floor slab as part of the Parnell Baths upgrade. The floor was poured as two slabs,
with two new in-situ cast end walls containing Xypex Admix and MS600 completing the new structures.
During 2009, Xypex Patch'n Plug was used to stem water flow through the old seawall of the balance tank under the
wooden decking, while the common pool wall within the balance tank was coated with two coats of Xypex
Concentrate/Gamma Cure to address fine cracks and extend the serviceable life of this popular seawater pool. This was
performed by Aquastop and specified through GHD.
Selwyn Aquatic Centre
Selwyn District, Rolleston
2,148 Kgs Xypex Admix C-1000 NF was specified into the 40 MPa pool floors, walls, balance tanks and concourse concrete for this
new pool to service the Selwyn District Council, just South of Christchurch. 83.4 m3 of precast concrete was included (supplied via
Smith Crane Precast) with the bulk of the in-situ cast concrete comprising 731.6 m3.
A waterstop was applied to associated construction joints via Adhesion Sealing.
Some areas of more aggressive chemical action utilised the combination of Xypex Admix with MS600 for enhanced durability and
Adhesion sealing subsequently applied a coat of Xypex Gamma Cure/Concentrate/Gamma Cure to 362 m2 of concrete drainage
pipes servicing the pool complex.
Tepid Baths Renovation
Xypex Admix C-1000 NF was specified into the pool and concourse concrete in combination with MS600 for pool
waterproofing and steel durability for this salt water pool located in an area of tidal uplift and high ground salinity.
2,089 kg of Xypex Admix was dosed into 431.8 m3 of 50 MPa concrete for the balance tank, children's and main pool
concrete and concourse areas.
