Conrad Maldives Resort & Spa

Two Sunset Water Villa Pools, nestled within a tidal coral reef, were built for the Conrad Maldives Resort and Spa on Rangali Island in the Maldives. As durability and protection of the steel reinforcing was a major consideration, 165 kg of Xypex Admix C-1000 NF combined with MS 600 (Microsilica) was specified to provide this protection.

    Blenheim Aquatic Centre

Blenheim 450 kg Xypex Admix C-1000 NF, along with 1000 m of Kuniseal C-31DS waterstop, were utilised as the waterproofing system for the pools and balance tanks in this large Aquatic centre. The centre serves as part of a major sporting complex in the heart of Blenheim. Pull-off adhesion tests were performed by Mapei, who were supplying the tiles to be stuck to the Xypex treated concrete, and these proved appropriate adhesion could be achieved using their cementitious adhesives combined with a latex compound. A Mapei epoxy adhesive was also tested with excellent results, as expected.
